The Private Practice Advantage

We are a private practice of Board Certified Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Pediatric Hospitalists. We have been staffing the Holy Cross Hospital level III NICU for the past several decades and the Holy Cross Germantown Hospital level II NICU since its inception in 2014. Our team has taken care of thousands of babies, helping them through complex medical situations and supporting their families. We focus on providing continuity of care for our patients and their families, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance for our staff.

“I love working with this group – it’s an environment of kindness, respect, and support.”

I’ve worked with CNA through multiple parts of my training and career: as a resident, before fellowship as a neonatal hospitalist, and now for many years as an attending neonatologist. Even early on, I felt welcomed as part of the team, and I continue to feel supported every day. I love working with this group – it’s an environment of kindness, respect, and support; there’s rarely a day where I don’t laugh or pause my work to hear a story about someone’s family or their weekend plans. We all know neonatology can be a stressful field with critically ill patients and hard days. I feel so lucky to work with a group on whom I can lean for support when times are tough and, even more often, celebrate patient and personal victories together.

— Stephanie Sheppard, MD

“Being a part of a collegial, professional, and caring group is why I have spent my career with CNA.”

I can’t believe my 25 years with Community Neonatal Associates has flown by so fast. Being a part of a collegial, professional, and caring group is why I have spent my career with CNA. As a team, we provide excellent neonatal care and are always evaluating and updating our care based on evidence-based practice. We work hard while supporting each other and we also enjoy our social events outside of work.
